Big schools
Peoria Notre Dame 19-3
This Peoria Notre Dame team is no secret anymore. They have talent and they can play. Knocking off state ranked teams and playing a bunch of 4A teams they have proven to be a real contender in the postseason. Mya Wardle and her freshman sister Emy have been on a tear. Lexi Baer is a big part of this team as well. This is a team that you don't want to mess with.
2. Normal Community 18-1
Senior Olivia Corson has been balling out this year and Normal Community looks like a state contender this year. This Thursday Normal Community and Peoria Notre Dame will square off in what will be quite the matchup.
3. Peoria High 16-1
Led by Iowa Hawkeyes commit Aaliyah Guyton, the Lions from Peoria High are continuing their success from previous years. They have been dominating their conference. With Aaliyah Guyton's injury she suffered in the Manual Holiday tournament, Danielle Ruffin will look to shine for this Lions squad.
4. Morton 15-4
If you know about girls basketball in Central Illinois you've heard all the success the Morton Potters girls basketball program has done throughout the years. Even in their down years it is a winning program.
5. Washington 12-4
Winning the conference last year with a conference record of 13-1 was a pretty successful year led by then Senior Claire McDougall. This year the Panthers are looking at yet another conference title with a team filled with sophomores. Avery Tibbs, Becca McDougall, and Mazzy O'Brien continue to shine in their young highschool careers.
Small Schools
Dee-Mack 18-1
The Chiefs have been on an amazing run and have a lot of depth. Sophomore Dalia DeJesus has really helped the Chiefs and has come up big in games for them this year.
Peoria Heights 17-3
The Peoria Heights team has a lot of talents for a 1A school. Senior Emily Dana has been a prolific scorer but she’s not the only one that has been a big factor. Freshman Rianna Foster will be a name you hear a lot of. Even though she is a freshman she is putting up numbers on the varsity squad. Averaging 10.4 points, 5.4 rebounds 2.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game she has been a weapon for this heights team.
