Large schools

1. Morton 21-5

Coach Becker's team is rolling and looks to be in great shape. After last year when they finished 7-5 in conference play, I was shocked. Morton has been at the top of the conference for years. This year they look really good. The game that i'm looking forward to is next Tuesday when they play state ranked Washington. That game could decide the conference champion.

2. Washington 19-4

This team is young and they are very good. They are filled with talent and have an impressive sophomore class. They had an impressive showing against our number four ranked team beating Richwoods by 28 points.

3. Peoria High 18-3

Losing their star point guard hasn't been doing the lions any favors but they still find ways to win some games. It will be interesting how they perform in the playoffs with their stacked East Peoria sectional.

4. Richwoods 19-9

A loss to Washington definitely hurt the lady knights but they are still a great team. It doesn't get any easier for the lady knights as there next game is against 2nd ranked in class 2A Peoria Notre Dame. It will be a tough challenge but Richwoods has some talent that could pose a threat to the Irish.

Small Schools

  1. Peoria Notre Dame 24-4

  2. Dee-Mack 26-2

The lady chiefs have a very impressive team with a record of 26-2. The only reason why they aren't number one on the list is Peoria Notre Dame's strength of schedule and success. I would love to see those two teams play in the post season.

3. Illini Bluffs 22-4

Senior Lilly Luczkowiak really impressed me in the win over Peoria Heights. She had 25 points and looked very good. Illini Bluffs is 1st place in their conference and continue to have a great year.

4. Peoria Heights 21-6

The lady patriots lost to a really good Illini Bluffs team but showed that they have talent a lot of talent on their roster. From senior Emily Dana to freshman Rianna Foster. This Heights team is looking for a historic season.

5. Brimfield 19-7

Brimfield is one of the hottest teams in central Illinois. Them being at number five goes to show how great Central Illinois basketball is. They have won ten straight game and they are first in their conference. They have a tough stretch of game coming up with Illini Bluffs, Eureka, and Havana on their schedule.
