Big schools
Lincoln 21-0
There is no doubt about it. This Lincoln team is really good. The All Stater and Colorado State commit Kloe Froebe keeps putting up insane numbers day in and day out. They take on my number 2 team Peoria Notre Dame this Saturday in what should be an epic battle at the Renaissance Coliseum. Lincoln has had a running clock in 20 of their 21 games which is absurd. Nobody has been able to keep up with Lincoln. They will look to keep it that way throughout the season.
2. Peoria Notre Dame 20-3
Peoria Notre Dame only played one game since the last time I released my rankings. That one game was against the 4th ranked in 4A Normal Community. They beat them easily by a final score of 59-38. The Lady Irish have 2 games coming up this week. They play at Dunlap on Monday. Then they play the number 1 team in class 3A undefeated Lincoln Railsplitters. This game will be an amazing one to watch. This game will be played at the Renaissance Coliseum at Bradley University. Game is this saturday January 20th. JV game will be played at 5:30 pm. Varsity follows with expected tip off time of 7:00 pm. You do not want to miss this game.
3. Washington 14-4
After the Washington Panthers beat the Morton Potters to take 1st place in the conference by themselves. It is easy to see why the Panthers are high on this list. O'Brien and Tibbs have been key for the panthers in their recent success.
4. Peoria High 17-1
The absence of Aaliyah Guyton definitely will hurt the Lady Lions but after watching them play a tough Richwoods team that came down to the wire. Peoria High still can win big games.
5. Morton 16-5
After losing a tough game to Washington, Morton still deserves to be on this list. they are a great team. Coming off of a victory to Canton, the Potters still have a decent shot of winning the conference.
Small Schools
Dee-Mack 19-1
The Chiefs have been on an amazing run and have a lot of depth. Sophomore Dalia DeJesus has really helped the Chiefs and has come up big in games for them this year.
2. Peoria Heights 18-3
The Peoria Heights team has a lot of talents for a 1A school. Senior Emily Dana has been a prolific scorer but she’s not the only one that has been a big factor. Freshman Rianna Foster will be a name you hear a lot of. Even though she is a freshman she is putting up numbers on the varsity squad. Averaging 10.4 points, 5.4 rebounds 2.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game she has been a weapon for this heights team.
3. Brimfield 14-7
After winning their last 5 games, Brimfield has been making some noise. Brimfield has depth throughout their whole team. Ava Heinz, Olivia Kappes, Ava Simpson, CJ Troxell, Kylee Vaughn. The list goes on and on. Brimfield has been hot as of recently and look to continue their hot streak.
