Peoria Notre Dame is playing in their first state championship game in program history. They made history in their last game with breaking the class 2A record for most threes in a state tournament game. The previous record was 8 three pointers. Peoria Notre Dame has 12. The all class record is 12 three pointers. Lexi Baer tied the Class 2A state record with 6 three pointers.

I talked with All State Guard, Mya Wardle on how the team is feeling. “It’s pretty exciting honestly. There is more excitement than nerves on our team right now. We have prepared all season for this moment and we are confident in our preparation. We just have to hoop now.”

I talked with Lexi Baer on how the team has prepared for today's big game. “We watched film yesterday and practiced plays and defense. I think we are ready for today and overall just need to play how we play!”

Lexi and the Peoria Notre Dame Lady Irish are appreciative of the Irish nation's support this season. They expect a big crowd for the state finale. “I’m very excited for a big crowd! We have a lot of people who normally come to our games and some new people too! We really appreciate the support from those who have cheered us on this season!”

Peoria Notre Dame is playing in their first state championship game in program history. They will be playing against Nashville who have a 33-3 record. PND has a 33-4 record. An interesting fact both teams beat the defending 4A champs O'Fallon this season. PND and Nashville are the two best teams in class 2A and it looks like we are in for a good one at ISU.
