Peoria Heights has a great team this year. After winning against South Fulton last night the Heights girls now have a record of 19-4 on the season. Senior Emily Dana scored her 1,000 career point on a free throw in the win. She finished with 14 points to lead the team. Emily is averaging 13.2 PPG for the lady Patriots and her team is on a roll. They could make some serious noise in the postseason.

Here's Emily Dana on what it felt like after hitting the 1,000 point mark. "It felt good to hit 1,000 points. I felt a little relieved, and then I just wanted to keep playing."

This Peoria Heights team will have a tough task in there next game on Monday against Illini Bluffs. I asked Emily on how the team feels heading into the big game.

"We are excited for the big game on Monday! We feel confident and know that playing a good team like Illini Bluffs will only make us better."

Emily joins the 1K club this year as last week Richwoods Kamryn Heider scored her 1,000th career point.

Illini Bluffs are 20-3 on the year and it will be a great matchup at Peoria Heights on Monday Night.
