The Metamora Redbirds are ready to go back on the court and battle in the Mid Illini. I talked to Kessa Sell about the upcoming season.

What are you looking forward to this upcoming season? “I’m looking forward to playing with some seniors that were injured last year. And seeing if we can be competitive in the mid- Illini conference. The team had great chemistry this summer and just excited to get started!”

What’s it like having coach Reedy as your coach? What have you learned from her during her time at Metamora? “It’s really cool having a young coach that played college basketball. She pushes us hard and I know she wants to make us better. I learned she was an outside shooter just like I am. She has explained to me that she has confidence in my 3 and now we are working on moving without the ball to create more opportunities to shoot outside.”

Coach Michaela Reedy is ranked 10th at North Central in three pointers made and had a successful college career.

The Metamora Redbirds are looking for a good year and if they stay healthy, they could be a sneaky good team in the Mid Illini.
