Peoria Notre Dame beat a tough Metamora team. The Butler University commit Lexi Baer had a great game with 26 points, 11 rebounds, along with making six three pointers. Lexi had to go up against some size. I asked her what it's like to go up against a six footer.

“Most teams we play have at least one girl that size. She was athletic and a good player.(Metamora’s Baylie Nena) They used a post-heavy offense so we had to focus more on that, but for the most part we see some bigger players. There were a few adjustments we had to make to keep them from scoring at the rim.”

It’s no surprise that Lexi is a three point shooter. She drilled six three pointers in the win. “It’s the best part of my game. I’ve been working on my 3 point shot since 6th grade. I’ve been trying to expand my game to driving as well, but the 3 point has always been my best skill.”

Peoria Notre Dame won the class 2A championship two years ago, and lost in the class 2A championship last year. This year they got moved up to class 3A. I asked Lexi what the goal is for this team. “To make it as far as we can! Class 3A has some great schools and great competition. Moving from 2A to 3A doesn’t change our goal and we want to go just as far as previous years.”

With the 63-51 win against Metamora, Peoria Notre Dame is now 13-3 on the season.
