Kylie Moeller recently committed to McKendree University. I talked to her about her commitment, her experience at Boo camp, and what she is looking forward to her senior season.
“What led me to make the decision to go to McKendree was that I really liked the team culture as well as the coaching staff, they immediately made me feel at home & like I belong there, and am cared for. Their style of play felt like a perfect fit for me. The campus is in a great area, it just feels like the right place to pursue my basketball dreams while also getting a solid education.”
You coached your last year at the Curley Boo Johnson camp. What is it like to connect and help the kids get better at basketball?
“It’s a great camp with so many great people. It’s amazing seeing all of the young kids with basketball dreams just like I did. It’s so fun to connect with the kids on the court by coaching them, and also getting to know them as people. It’s such a great atmosphere it’s so easy to connect with all of the kids just through basketball!”
What are you looking forward to your senior season?
“I’m looking forward to just playing without any pressure. I’m excited to continue to grow with the team and see how far this core group of seniors has come since we were freshmen. It’s definitely bittersweet playing my last year in an East Peoria jersey, but I'm going to enjoy it & continue to put in the work everyday to help my team as much as possible!”
Kylie is ready to play at the next level, but first she is excited to play her senior season at East Peoria.
