When it comes to Dunlap Eagles Girls Basketball, they have had their fair share of great point guards. From Remmel, and Sollberger. To the current Caroline Holmes. Dunlap added a freshman guard by the Name of Keyaira Haywood and she is ready for her high school career. I talked to her earlier about playing with the varsity team this summer.
“I really enjoy playing with the Dunlap varsity team, and I'm excited to continue to build chemistry with the coaches and players. Playing this summer will prepare me for the upcoming season, as I continue to adjust to the pace of high school basketball. My mindset will always be to do what's best for the team in order to have a successful season.”
Keyaira always loves her family's support and they are always there for her.
“My family is my biggest inspiration in life because they motivate me to strive for my dreams. They continue to help me understand the dedication and sacrifices it requires to be a student athlete. My family has always supported me and continues to be my biggest fans. Their support really means a lot to me with the upcoming challenges entering high school next year.”
If you were to say something to the senior year Keyaira Haywood, what would you say?
“Congratulations! The amount of hard work you put in has paid off. You've reached your goals and I'm so proud of you. I can only imagine the success you will have at the next level. Continue to believe in yourself and stay humble! Keep grinding Key!“
Haywood is a state champion for Dunlap Middle School as they won the championship last year. She looks to continue the championship winning ways and hopes to bring a possible title to Dunlap High School.
