Illini Bluffs destroyed Peoria High in a run rule. They won 18-2 in 5 innings. Giftos went 2-3 with two RBI’s for Illini Bluffs. They are now 4-1 on the season.
East Peoria Tremont
East Peoria came back and won against Tremont after yesterday’s loss to a talented Normal University team. The Raiders had a big third inning scoring ten runs in the inning. East Peoria won 13-1. Sosnowski, Lohnes, and Tolliver each had two hits and one RBI. East Peoria is now 8-1 on the season.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw Richwoods
These two teams played a double header. The offense was clicking for both teams and Richwoods had an opportunity down 8-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and nobody out. Scwartz walked that brought in a run to make it an 8-6 game. Dee Mack made a pitching change and Gilbert came up to bat, hitting a sac fly into right field to score a run to make it an 8-7 Deer Creek lead. Schwartz scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at eight a piece. Hopkins grounded out but that scored a crucial run. At the end of the sixth inning, Richwoods four run sixth inning got them a 9-8 lead. Richwoods late rally helped them win 9-8.
In the 2nd game, it was all Richwoods. They won 16-1 in four innings. Waller went 2-2 with five RBI’s including a grand slam. With Richwoods two wins today, they now have a record of 3-3 on the season.
Metamora Goodpasture Christian
Metamora is playing in Tennessee again. Goodpasture Christian got out to a hot start in this one, scoring four runs in the top of the first. Petri started for Metamora going two innings and all six runs were unearned. Metamora couldn’t keep up with Goodpasture Christian’s hot bats as they lost 12-2. Grebner had a great day at the plate for the Redbirds. He did exactly what you want as a leadoff hitter going 3-3.
Peoria Heights Midland
In game one of a double header, Peoria Heights leadoff hitter Ahart had a really good day at the plate. He went 3-4 with two RBI’s hitting two doubles. Peoria Heights won this game 9-4.
In game two, Cameron Williams was on the mound for Peoria Heights. Midland scored the first run on a wild pitch in the top of the first. Williams had a great day at the plate going 3-4 with three RBI’s. Peoria Heights wins 12-2 in 5 innings on a mercy rule. Peoria Heights now has a record of 4-3 on the season.
Limestone Union Grove
Limestone had a tough time against Union Grove losing 12-1 in six innings. The Rockets collected just three hits. Holt, Sprout, and Chapman each got a hit. Sprout collected the one RBI. Limestone is now 6-5 on the season.
IVC Paxton-Buckley
Landsverk had a good day for IVC. He went 1-3 with two RBI’s. IVC won 3-2 and now have a record of 7-3.
Morton Pearl City
Cam Crawford started for the Morton Potters. He was excellent on the mound going 4 innings, not allowing a hit, no runs, two walks, and seven strikeouts. Not a lot of offense was shown until the bottom of the fourth inning when Morton put up seven runs. This game ended in a combined no hitter for the Morton Potters with a 7-0 victory. Crawford went 4 innings. Davis went 2 innings striking out two. Mitchell pitched 1 inning. Brooks and Burns both collected two RBI’s in the win. Morton is now 4-1 on the season.
Morton McHenry
In the Potters second game, they threatened early in the top of the 1st with the bases loaded and two outs. Kruzick out swinging to leave them loaded. Spencer Timm was on the mound for the Potters. Morton took the lead in the 3rd inning thanks to an AJ Davis single to left field to drive in two runs. McHenry took the lead in the 4th inning scoring three runs. In the top of the 6th, Morton’s Reiman hit a grand slam to take a 6-3 lead. Morton would go on and win 6-3. Reiman went 2-5 with four RBI’s with his grand slam. Davis went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s.
Washington Normal Community
Masyn Burke was on the mound to start for Washington. The talented Notre Dame commit Vercruysse led off for Normal University in and ripped a single into left field. After a sac bunt to put the runner at 2nd base, Max Heineman singled into left to drive in Vercruysse and Normal University took the lead in the 1st inning. The Pioneers stranded two runners on and only scored one in the first. Washington got out of a jam as the Pioneers were threatening in the bottom of the 3rd inning with runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Burke struck out three and the score remained 1-0 Normal. Normal would score again in the bottom of the 4th inning on a sac fly by Vercruysse. In the bottom of the 5th inning the Pioneers would score another one on an RBI single by Meyer to make it 3-0. The Pioneers put this game to bed with a six run 6th inning. Normal University wins 9-0. Heineman went 3-4 with one RBI. Normal University is now 8-3 on the season. Washington’s loss now puts them at 4-2 on the season.
