High school baseball is right around the corner. The East Peoria Raiders are coming off of a good season last year with a 23-13 record and a 2nd place finish in the mid-Illini conference. I talked to sophomore Auggie Lohnes on how the team feels heading into the season. “We have a good group and we all know how good we can be. We are super excited to compete.”

Here is what Auggie says this team's goal is.

“I would say to leave nothing out there. Be the best we can be.”

East Peoria isn’t focused on any team in particular.

“I wouldn’t say there is any team in particular. I want to win every time we are out there.” Auggie says. East Peoria's non conference schedule includes IVC, East Moline United, Bloomington Central, Richwoods, Galesburg, PND, Olympia, Rochester, PCS, Springfield, Normal Community, LaSalle-Peru, and Moline. Along with their conference schedule.

East Peoria is looking for a great year after last year's impressive season. East Peoria finished above Morton in the conference standings which I did not think was going to happen. This year could it happen again? Morton has a pretty good squad this year but so does East Peoria. Only time will tell as the season is quickly approaching.
