Dunlap Baseball wins the Mid Illini Conference

Dunlap clinched a share of the Mid Illini conference with a 6-1 win over Metamora on Thursday. This is Dunlap’s 2nd conference title in 24 years. Dunlap has a record of 25-6 on the season. They are three wins away from tying the single season win record set in 2018 when Dunlap had a record of 28-8. 

I talked to Dunlap’s Jack Piper on what it means to the team to win the conference. 

“Amazing! This is something our team has been working for since December and a goal that we set for ourselves. To have everyone come together and achieve this has been such an amazing experience.” 

“All of us feel very confident about how things have been going so we’re just going keep that same mentality heading into the postseason.” Dunlap is in a very tough Washington Sectional and will have to play their best baseball to win it. They play in the Galesburg regional on Wednesday.
