Central Illinois Girls Basketball players to watch next season
Keyaira Haywood Dunlap Freshman
Keyaira is a freshman but she has playoff experience. She was a part of Dunlap Middle School's state championship team last year.
Keniya Todd Dunlap Freshman
Keniya is very good in the paint on both ends of the floor. She can block shots, get rebounds, force turnovers, and drives to the basket. She helped her team make history last year at Christ Lutheran winning the state championship and national championship going 27-0 on the season. She will be a player we talk about for a while as she starts her high school career.
Emy Wardle PND Sophomore
Emy Wardle had an impressive freshman season last year as a starter for the state champions Peoria Notre Dame. She hit the game winning shot to win the state title. Emy averaged 8.9 points per game last season appearing in all 36 games.
Lexi Baer PND Junior
Lexi has an offer to Butler University. Coming off of a state championship with Peoria Notre Dame she set the school record by making 91 three pointers on the season. She averaged 11.3 points per game last season and was a key contributor to the Irish state title season.
Dalia DeJesus Deer Creek-Mackinaw Junior
Dalia had an amazing sophomore season surpassing 1,000 career points. She averaged 17 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game shooting 50.4% from the field. She was a part of history as her team won a program record 32 games last season. Look for her to continue to grow as she has had an incredible first two years of high school basketball.
Kylie Moeller East Peoria Senior
Kylie has offers to Missouri S&T, Judson College, and the University of Dubuque. Kylie averaged 15 points per game in her junior year and looks to continue to be an offensive threat this season.
Julia Mingus PND Senior
Julia has an offer to Illinois Wesleyan, and North Central College. Julia averaged 11.3 points per game last season winning a state title. She is an extremely hard worker with great basketball IQ. Look for her to have a big senior year this season.
Alivia Vaughan Metamora Senior
Alivia is an offensive threat as she led the team in points, rebounds, free throw percentage, and was the team's MVP last year. She just received her first college offer from Wisconsin-Lutheran College. She will receive many more throughout the year when you see her on the court. She is a difference maker.
Kennedy Quinn Abingdon-Avon Sophomore
She took an unofficial visit to Western Illinois back in May. She had an incredible freshman season. She is an offensive threat that will be talked about for a long time. Even though she is at a small school at Abingdon-Avon, she has the talent and skills to play basketball at the next level even as a sophomore.
Allison Wheeler Canton Senior
She is a 3 sport high school athlete who reached 1,000 career points last season. Expect Allison to have a productive senior year for Canton.
Kaitlin Cassidy PND Senior
Kaitlin averaged 10.3 points, and 6 rebounds per game in her junior year at PND. She was an all conference 1st team and was a key part of PND's state title run. Kaitlin hasn't had any public offers yet but I am sure she will in the near future.
