Baseball Season is here! Mini Preview

High school baseball is around the corner 

Here is my rundown of some of the teams. 

Morton 

The Morton Potters are no stranger to winning. Morton is coming off of a 24-12 record. Last year they captured 3rd place in the Mid Illini Conference. Look for Heartland Community College commit Tanner Spangler on the mound this year for the Potters along with Junior Ryan Schaffnit. 

Limestone 

The Limestone Rockets are losing a lot of pieces from last year as it was a senior led team. Look for some new faces at the varsity level for the Rockets. 

Dunlap

Take a look at the Eagles this year with what looks to be a very bright future. We could see a few freshmen at the varsity level along with a couple sophomores. The ace for the Eagles will be Senior Jack Piper who has committed to Carroll University for baseball. 

Canton 

There’s one name in Canton who you will want to see. Freshman Kash VanHouten who can bring it on the mound. He throws in the high 80’s that makes him one of the top freshman pitchers in the state.
