High School Baseball Rundown March 27th, 2024

Today we had some games in Central Illinois and also had games in Myrtle Beach. Let's take a look at all the games and summaries.


Peoria Christian Delavan Peoria Christian are playing their first game of the season and it's against Delavan. Gavin Walder was on the mound for the Chargers. This game was a pitching duel and it was a long one. Both teams were tied at 1 a piece through 7 innings. In the bottom of the 9th, Delavan's Pierson hit a walk off single to win it 2-1. The Chargers starting pitcher Gavin Walder went 5 scoreless inning walking 1 and striking out 8.


Canton Limestone

The conference game was a great one. Freshman Kash VanHouten was on the mound for the Little Giants. He went 5.1 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 runs, 5 walks, and 9 strikeouts. This game was a long one as it went into extra innings tied up 4-4. Limestone had a chance to win it in the bottom of the 8th. Back to back singles followed by a sac bunt had runners at 2nd and 3rd with just one out for the Rockets. Limestone couldn't get the run in and they headed to the 9th inning. Limestone would win in the bottom of the 9th on a walk off fielders choice.


Tremont PND

The Irish scored 3 runs on just 3 hits. Tremont's leadoff hitter Meeker went 3-4 with 2 RBI's. Lawson Alwan went 1-2 with an RBI and walked twice for the Irish. Tremont won 4-3.


East Peoria Galesburg

East Peoria had a successful day thanks to starting pitcher Lohnes and the third baseman Sosnowski. Lohnes went 6.2 innings striking out 7. Sosnowski went 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles and an RBI. The Raiders won this game 8-4 to remain undefeated on the season.


Dunlap Hoover

Dunlap played in Myrtle Beach to play the Hoover Vikings from Ohio. The Eagles scored three runs in the top of the 1st to set the tone. Hoover scored one on an error in the bottom of the first. They were still down 3-1. Dunlap would cruise to victory and win this game 13-3. Jaxson Tresenriter had himself a game. He went 3-4 at. the plate driving in 4. He pitched an inning in relief striking out 2.


Dunlap Padua Franciscan

These two teams played late. The game started at 10:30 pm eastern time. Christian Ferrari started the game for the Eagles. This game was scoreless for the first three innings. In the top of the 4th, Bellina tripled for Padua Franciscan to score a run. Siedlecki would double to bring in two more runs to make it a 3-0 lead for Padua. Dunlap capitalized in the bottom of the 5th when they had the bases loaded and nobody out. Gabe Munoz grounded out to second but scored a run to make it 3-1 Padua. Josh Diver hit a single into left field to drive in two and tied the game at 3-3. Jaxson Tresenriter tripled to score in a run and the Eagles took the lead at 4-3 in the 5th inning. The Eagles won this game 4-3 and now have a record of 8-1 on the year.


Morton Macomb

Morton thumped Macomb 15-1. Reiman had a big day at the plate for the Potters. He went 3-4 with 3 RBI's. Schaffnit was the starting pitcher for the Potters and went a perfect three innings striking out 5.
