It was a rainy day in Peoria, but Dunlap traveled to Myrtle Beach this week and was able to play. They played an out of state team called Pickerington North out of Ohio. Dunlap has had more experience than them. Dunlap has played five games compared to their one which they played yesterday in a pitching duel 1-0 on a walk off single. Dunlap has a chance to start the season 6-0 which they haven't done in 10+ years.
All the rainouts in Peoria included Illini Bluffs vs Illini Central that has been rescheduled for Wednesday. Macomb vs Morton got postponed. Limestone Canton got rained out. Metamora Rock Island was canceled.
Dunlap scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Nava reached on an error to score a run. The Eagles fell short in this one losing the game 3-2. They had a chance to do some damage in the top of the 7th inning with the bases loaded but could not score. Jack Piper started the game for the Eagles. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs and struck out 6. Jaxson Tresenriter went 2-4 at the plate. They move to a record of 5-1 on the season and play two games tommorow that starts bright and early in the morning.
